The Dallas School District Board approved the district’s student fee schedule for the 2025–26 school year at its July 14 meeting, including a new instrumental rental and maintenance fee at the high school and a $20 band fee.
Board members discussed how the instrumental rental fee will be allocated to the department to cover repairs and maintenance and noted it has not been used historically in recent years. The suggested field-trip donation was clarified by staff as informational for families and not a mandatory board-approved fee; sports and other capped fees remain subject to the district’s fee cap policy.
A motion to approve the fees as posted in the report packet was moved and seconded and passed unanimously by voice vote.
