The Dallas SD 2 school board completed a series of routine actions and received a policy first reading at its meeting.
The board opened by approving the meeting agenda by voice vote after a motion and second. The consent agenda (minutes and policies) was moved and seconded and approved without opposition among members present.
On item 10, the board unanimously approved Resolution 242508 recognizing Teacher Appreciation Week in May 2025 following a motion moved and seconded by board members during the meeting.
The board also considered and approved two leave-of-absence requests (for Whitworth Elementary teachers) for the 2025–26 school year; the motions were moved and seconded on the record and passed by voice vote.
In policy business, the board received the first reading of policy IKF (graduation requirements). The proposed language adds a financial-literacy/personal-finance half-credit to diploma requirements and aligns modified-diploma language with state requirements; no final action on IKF was taken at this meeting because it was a first reading.
Before adjourning to executive session, the chair announced the board would meet in executive session under ORS 192.660(2)(i) to evaluate employment-related performance of district personnel; the chair reminded the media and public that deliberations are not to be reported and that no final decision may be made in executive session.
Votes at a glance: motions on the agenda, consent agenda, the teacher-appreciation resolution and leave requests passed unanimously by the board members present; the transcript records voice votes and standard motions but does not include a roll-call tally of individual ayes and nays.
