The Dallas School District 2 board on June 1 adopted its fiscal year 2025–26 budget of $87,266,947 and imposed a permanent ad valorem tax rate of $4.5527 per $1,000 of assessed value to support general obligation debt service.
District staff told the board the budget is the final step in the annual process and that there were no substantive changes since the budget committee approved the document, though an updated state school fund allocation reduced local revenues by about $100,000. ‘‘There have been no changes since the budget committee approved the document,’’ staff said, adding they recommended moving forward with the committee-approved document.
The board debated procedure briefly and then heard staff read the key resolved clauses of Resolution No. 20 42509, which adopts the budget, makes required appropriations, and imposes the stated tax rates. Rob moved the motion and Zach seconded. After a voice vote, the board approved the resolution unanimously.
The board chair then closed the budget hearing and moved on to regular business. Officials said the $100,000 reduction reflects recent state funding updates but did not change the budget document presented for adoption.
