Board approves integrated-plan outcomes to secure state literacy and success funds

Nick, the district presenter, outlined the integrated plan application that aligns intended outcomes to the district's strategic plan and state requirements. He said the outcomes are more specific than prior versions and are required to access SIA funding, early literacy funding and high school success funding.
Nick described four intended outcomes: increase K–3 literacy proficiency; increase K–12 academic achievement and reading; meet social‑emotional needs for all students; and graduate all students. He explained that approval of these outcomes allows the administration to develop a detailed activity list for submission to the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) and that ODE will set targets in collaboration with district staff.
Board member Ross moved to approve the integrated plan application (the intended outcomes); Zach seconded, and the motion passed unanimously by the board members present. District staff said they will return with the activity list and negotiated targets following ODE feedback.
