The Cascade Charter Township Planning Commission voted to reschedule the public hearing on proposed zoning ordinance amendments from July 21 to Aug. 18 to ensure members of the planning commission subcommittee are present to respond to public comments.
Commissioners said having a subcommittee representative at the hearing would help the public understand decisions and rationale. Staff noted the published notice would need to be republished for the new date and that the Aug. 18 hearing will be held at the township fire station because the township meeting room will be under construction between July 28 and Labor Day. Staff also explained the timeline for the ordinance process: the planning commission public hearing on Aug. 18, introduction to the township board on Aug. 27, and a target adoption date of Sept. 10, 2025.
Chair (S1) moved the change in schedule and the motion carried by voice vote.
