Parks & Recreation outlines seasonal events and a new fall walking club

Cascade Charter Township’s parks and recreation staff briefed the board on recent and upcoming programming during the meeting.
Staff recapped this spring’s Easter egg hunt, Independence Day partnership with the fire department, and a three-concert summer series that drew positive feedback for featuring out-of-town acts. A recent back-to-school event at Friendship Park included a bounce house and music.
Looking ahead, staff announced a walking club that will meet at Rec Park on Wednesday, Sept. 10 and Oct. 1 with one-, two- and three-mile loop options; staff said the program will be evaluated and repeated if successful. Staff also promoted a Sept. 20 Stone House festival (5–9 p.m.) featuring live music, children’s activities and a dock‑diving demonstration for dogs, along with a Halloween partnership and December tree‑lighting plans.
Parks staff thanked the maintenance crew and volunteers and invited resident suggestions for future programming.
