The board approved a purchase to stock replacement streetlight poles and luminaires so staff can replace damaged fixtures quickly, citing long lead times from vendors. A staff presenter said lead times for poles and luminaires were "at least 10 to 12 weeks," and the township wanted to maintain on-hand inventory for rapid response.
Staff told the board they solicited multiple bids and that Graybar offered the lowest pricing consistent with past purchases. The presenter said some historical ornamental fixtures are no longer manufactured and that replacement luminaires may come from different manufacturers that are visually similar but have different components and warranties.
Trustees discussed funding and oversight. Staff said the purchase will be paid from a DDA line item that the DDA intends to carry over to 2026 for related lighting and streetscape projects. The presenter noted some Centennial Park lights have had driver failures and intermittent operation; replacements are intended to maintain existing coverage until a larger replacement project can be executed.
A motion to approve the purchase of stock replacement streetlights was made and carried by the board.
