The motion rescinded Resolution 10 of 2023, Resolution 5 of 2022 and Resolution 23 of 2022 and was moved and seconded; Clerk Slater conducted a roll‑call vote with affirmative results from present members.
Board discussion reviewed the history: pathways work began as an informal group prior to 2020, became a formal pathways committee in 2020–2021 during a period of heavy resident complaints about path maintenance, and helped advance more than six miles of pathway reconstruction. Staff capacity has since expanded — the township now has an in‑house engineer and a parks and facilities manager — prompting the proposal to merge committees to reduce duplicate meetings while preserving volunteer input.
Trustees asked about bylaws and whether board members can serve on the new committee in particular roles; Manager Smith said the new resolution includes clarified bylaws intended to resolve past inconsistencies. Trustee comments noted engineer Eric Thorn’s substantial contributions to pathway progress. The board approved the consolidation by roll call; staff will onboard existing committee members to the new group and adjust membership over time as vacancies occur.
