Moore County to hold public hearing on $451,426 5311 transit grant application

The county called a public hearing for Sept. 16 at 5:30 p.m. to accept public comment on the application.
Transportation staff said the county’s annual 5311 administrative allocation supports staff salaries (transportation director, administrative officer II, office coordinator at 100% and fleet/route coordinator at 50%). The capital portion would fund one raised-roof van with a lift and replacement of five transportation computers.
The grant requires a local match (15% for administrative, 10% for capital). Staff estimated the combined local match at $61,725 and said the match will be covered by contract revenues from brokered Medicaid transport and other contracts (named contracts included MTM/MotiveCare and Monarch). The board voted to call the Sept. 16 hearing by voice vote; no final grant approval was requested at this meeting.
