Lucas County commissioners approve USGS stream gauges, engineer travel and Sylvania Township street agreement

Lucas County commissioners approved three items presented by County Engineer Panuski, including a contract with the U.S. Geological Survey to install, operate and maintain stream gauges in Swan Creek and 10 Mile Creek.
Panuski also requested and received approval for travel after an invitation from the National Association of Counties to speak to the U.S. House Transportation Infrastructure Committee, the Senate Public Works Committee and the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Separately, the board approved a joint cooperation agreement among the Board of Sylvania Township Trustees, the City of Sylvania and Lucas County to carry out township street improvements funded by OPWC, with the presentation noting $178,000 in in-kind work and $52,000 in expected OPWC reimbursement.
The clerk recorded roll-call approval for the engineer’s items. The transcript records affirmative votes as “Yes” from commissioners identified in the roll call as Commissioner Cebecchi, Commissioner Gherkin and Commissioner Lopez.
The approvals were taken under routine business presented by the county engineer; no additional conditions or amendments were recorded in the public portion of the meeting.
