Zoning board continues SK Auto Body special-permit request for fire-department review

Engineer David Jordan described a reduced layout of 12 bays (the plan previously included 20 bays on preliminary drawings) and showed a fire-truck turnaround exhibit to demonstrate access to the rear of the site. The petitioner said upgraded filtration—"we're switching over to carbon filters ... which collects"—had been proposed to reduce fumes; the principal told the board the shop has used top-tier paint products and planned filter upgrades.
Several abutters expressed concerns about fumes, potential future increases in work activity, traffic, and stormwater/drainage. The conservation officer submitted comments noting wetland resource areas associated with the site and asked for erosion-control limits and stormwater information if the project moves forward.
After discussion the board moved to continue the petition so the applicant can provide a full set of plans to the Building and Fire Departments and obtain fire-department feedback and any required departmental conditions. The board recorded a continuance to the next meeting rather than taking a final vote.
