The Methuen Zoning Board of Appeals voted to approve a 4-by-8 flat sign for the Methuen Arlington Neighborhood building after brief discussion about size, setback and visibility.
Harvey Sines, speaking for the applicant, said the sign would be mounted flat against the building and that a 4-by-8 sheet is standard and legible from the street given the 50-foot setback. Board members discussed options to reduce scale and color choices; no letters of opposition were read into the record. Several members said the sign would increase visibility for neighborhood programming and encourage volunteer engagement.
The board recorded affirmative votes and approved the sign with no additional conditions noted at the hearing.
