At a glance: routine approvals — records fee, holidays, grants, RFQ, property listings and appointments

During the meeting the Coryell County Commissioners Court approved several routine but substantive items by voice vote.

Records archive fee: The court adopted a $10 fee for the county clerk’s records-archive fund to support scanning and preservation of historical county books and other records. The motion to set the fee at $10 was moved by Commissioner Matthews and seconded by Commissioner Basham and carried.

Consent agenda and holidays: The court approved the consent agenda and later approved the county’s 2026 holiday schedule, retaining the flex-holiday option for Texas Independence Day or Juneteenth, on motions from commissioners and voice votes.

Home-delivered meals: The court approved a resolution authorizing county funds to support the home-delivered meal program as required by the Texas Department of Agriculture. The county’s contribution figure cited in discussion was $2,643 for the program year.

RFQ for audit services: The court approved RFQ-25-03 to solicit professional audit services for the fiscal-year audit covering Sept. 30, 2025; staff were instructed to publish notice in the newspaper and solicit direct responses.

Property listings and appointments: The court voted to list county-owned properties at 115 and 113 South 7th Street at $175,000 each. The court also appointed Johnny Burks as constable for Precinct 4 to fill an unexpired term; both motions carried on voice votes.

Pay bills: The court approved payment of bills presented at the meeting totaling $1,689,043.29.
