The LaPorte County Redevelopment Commission approved its Sept. 24 agenda, last month's minutes, the treasurer's report and a series of claims for multiple tax-increment finance (TIF) accounts.
The meeting opened with a motion to approve the agenda; the motion was seconded and carried on a voice vote. After public comment, commissioners moved to approve the previous month's minutes; that motion also passed by voice vote.
During the treasurer's report, the treasurer read account balances for the TIF districts and identified ledger entries including the KIDC account and the 39 North account. A motion to accept the treasurer's report as presented was made and approved.
The Commission then considered claims charged to several TIF funds. The board approved payments including MCR Partners ($1,000), Guy Di Martino ($1,500), Harold Argus ($25.30) for a total of $2,525.30 in one batch, and a separate set for the 4 21 1 TIF that included MCR Partners ($4,000) and two NIPSCO electric invoices ($119.87 and $39.52) totaling $4,159.39. The 39 North TIF also authorized an MCR Partners payment of $1,000. All claims were approved following motion and second.
Commission members noted that some vendors appear on multiple TIF invoices because invoices are split among the districts they service. No dissent was recorded on the financial measures.
The meeting concluded with routine announcements and a motion to adjourn, which passed by voice vote.
