Juvenile services and NOVA program staff sought additional supplies and funding to accommodate a new nurse and to expand NOVA program space in Michigan City. Council members agreed to retain those requests in the budget and to revisit capital purchases — such as interactive classroom equipment — after firm quotes are available.
Superior and circuit court representatives warned that psychological evaluations and interpreter services are constitutionally required and cited rising costs; the council raised the psychological services line for courts after members noted last year’s spending ran higher than the existing allocation.
