Planning commission amends agenda, tables Big B Coffee items and elects ZBA liaison

The Huntington Woods Planning Commission handled several procedural items at its meeting, approving the evening’s agenda and Jan. 27 minutes, moving a missing applicant’s agenda item to the end of the agenda, electing a Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) liaison and tabling the Big B Coffee site‑plan and special‑use items to the next meeting.
At the start of the meeting Commissioner Jessica Steinhardt moved to approve the agenda; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The commission then approved the Jan. 27 minutes following a motion and second.
Staff reported no representatives from Big B Coffee were present for agenda item 5 and proposed moving that item to later in the agenda; the commission approved that schedule change. Later, after other business, staff recommended tabling the Big B Coffee site‑plan and special‑use review to the next meeting; the commission voted to table those items.
Commissioners also opened nominations for a ZBA liaison. Chris Gombiewski was nominated and confirmed by voice vote. Staff announced a Zoom blueprint‑reading training session scheduled for March 17 and a joint meeting with the Zoning Board of Appeals on March 10; staff said the city will pay registration for an in‑person MAP planning course in April at the Oakland County building and that recordings will be available for remote attendees.
After closing public participation the commission adjourned following a motion and voice vote.
