Hardin County approves two-tier dental option, adopts 2025–26 benefit basis and ends county-paid Rocket Lawyer

Speaker 2 moved to “approve having a high and a low plan where the county will initially offer everybody the low plan and for the difference the employee would pay the difference for the high plan.” Speaker 4 seconded that motion; after a brief discussion of monthly cost differences the board approved the plan.
Cost differences were discussed in the meeting. As Speaker 4 summarized, “Single is 4 71. Employing spouse is $10.41, and her family is $17.17.” The board also approved a motion to “utilize a basis for the 25, 26 benefit year,” a motion Speaker 2 moved and Speaker 4 seconded.
On Rocket Lawyer, Speaker 2 said an internal check showed “there are currently 18 employees from Hardin County using Rocket Lawyer” and that the county would face a continuing cost of “$2 per month, for eligible employees.” Following discussion about whether the county should pay for the service for all employees, Speaker 2 moved to deny county-paid Rocket Lawyer services; the motion was seconded and the board voted to terminate county-paid enrollment.
