Brian Moore requested rezoning of a 0.87-acre parcel at 3012 North NC 16 Business Highway from conditional neighborhood business to industrial general to allow vehicle sales and vehicle repair on the site. County planning staff said the parcel was conditionally rezoned in 2002 for vehicle sales and that vehicle repair is permitted only in the Industrial General district, which is the reason for the new rezoning request.
Moore said he plans to remove the existing building and construct a new facility closer to the road to provide vehicle sales at retail prices along with repair services. He incorporated proposed findings of fact into his testimony for the special-use permit (SUP523).
Because the rezoning remains undecided, the board voted to table the SUP523 decision until after the Planning Board and Commissioners consider ZMA751 at the June 16, 2025 meeting. No final approval of the special-use permit was made tonight.
