Flynn said neighbors welcomed initial outreach but expressed concerns about the developer’s stated future interest in a taller, multi‑story building. “The biggest concern I have again is that taller building…especially if you have this be a 24/7 facility with windows,” Flynn said, noting potential impacts from light and hours of operation for nearby families. Commissioners and staff agreed they had not seen formal plats or applications and asked the developer to provide detailed plans before the matter returns to the commission.
What happens next: Staff will accept materials from the developer and, if a formal application is submitted, the project will follow the city’s review process with public notice and hearings as required.
