Bluffdale honors City Manager Mark Reid after 17 years as he nears retirement

"He has demonstrated unwavering commitment, exceptional leadership, and profound impact on the city of Bluffdale," Mayor Hall said while introducing photographs and noting Reid’s long-term community involvement. The mayor and council highlighted growth figures presented during the meeting: population growth of roughly 250% (from about 7,900 in 2008 to nearly 20,000 in 2024), property values rising nearly 400% and substantial increases in city assets as the city has expanded.
Councilmembers and staff praised Reid’s role in project partnerships and retaining staff through several cycles of growth. The mayor announced an open retirement reception for Mark Reid on June 18 from 3 to 5 p.m. at City Hall and asked the community to attend.
The remarks were presented as recognition and appreciation; no formal personnel action was taken at the council meeting.
