At the April 7 meeting Commissioner Mullen presented a proclamation recognizing April 18 as Line Worker Appreciation Day in Lincoln County, citing the service and risks line workers face during storms and disasters. Chairman Lyman and other commissioners thanked line workers for restoring electrical service during emergencies.
Tommy Helms of Duke Energy came forward to receive the proclamation and was introduced by the chair. Helms thanked the board and noted his 30 years of service with the company. Commissioners applauded the workforce and the proclamation was accepted.
