County attorney Miss Gilbert said the exotic-animal working group had concluded and that updates to the animal services and parks and recreation ordinances will come forward in September. She also said she would ask the board to consider a letter supporting Machpelah (Machpelah/Machpela) Presbyterian Church’s nomination to the National Register.
County manager/staff reported that Scott Mahler started as airport manager and reminded commissioners of emergency‑management exercises and training dates. The board approved several appointments to boards and committees as moved by Commissioner Mullin. The board then entered closed session under North Carolina General Statute section 143‑318.11(a)(6) and returned with no action taken before adjourning.
