Lincoln County commissioners voted to approve two heavy-equipment purchases for solid waste operations.
Andrew, presenting for development services, described replacing an older Cat 320 excavator (2013 model with roughly 11,500 hours) with a new 330 excavator purchased via a Sourcewell contract for $366,605.56; he said the older unit may be traded in or sold. "This excavator was actually purchased in 1993 and rebuilt in 2013," Andrew said, explaining the operational need.
He also presented a replacement for a 2016 D6T bulldozer with a new D6 LGP unit to reduce maintenance costs; the quoted price off Sourcewell was $346,967.95. Commissioner Patton moved to approve the excavator purchase and Commissioner Carpenter moved to approve the bulldozer purchase; both motions passed by voice vote.
Staff said the upgrades will improve fuel efficiency and lift capacity while reducing maintenance intervals for core site machinery.
