Anchorage Botanical Garden presents $10M‑scale expansion plan to Assembly committee

Montaruso said the Garden operates on roughly 80 acres of Heritage Land Bank land under a lease that runs through 2058. He described the facility as a "million‑dollar operation" in annual revenue, with about 80 percent of income earned through admissions, programs and rentals. "We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit," Montaruso said, and added that visitation and program demand have grown substantially in recent years.
