Neosho — The Neosho City Council appointed Bobby Lee to a vacancy on the Planning & Zoning Commission and received a December financial update from finance staff.
Council noted Bobby Lee currently serves on the Parks & Recreation Board; a motion to appoint Lee to the Planning & Zoning Commission was moved and approved 7–0.
Finance staff Leslie reported that January sales-tax receipts were down about 8% compared with January 2024 and year-to-date collections were down about 2.4%, but she said the city remained on its overall projected budget for the year. Leslie also noted an anomaly in November in which a large utility doubled up billing; she said CDs approved earlier have been transferred and that the auditor’s work is complete.
Next steps: staff will continue to monitor revenues and report back as appropriate; the newly appointed commissioner will take the seat following standard appointment procedures.
