Neosho council awards curb and ballfield-lighting contracts totaling about $74,220

For sports facilities, staff recommended and the council accepted a bid from Southwest Missouri Electric LLC to remove and replace lighting at Tomlin Ball Field and a T-Ball field for a not-to-exceed price of $20,900. Staff told the council three bids were received and that work is planned to begin March 17 with substantive progress expected by April 1; the council approved the related contract resolution by a 6-0 vote.
Separately, council approved a curb-replacement project in east-side residential neighborhoods (Stratford, Flowerbox Lane, Melody and Kentland Drive). The lowest bidder for the work was Gowans (Goings listed in the bid results) at $53,320; the resolution authorizing the agreement and allowing the mayor to execute the contract passed 6-0.
Officials said the curb work is being timed ahead of planned street overlays and that the lighting project is part of a multiyear series of field upgrades.
Both contract approvals were recorded by voice/roll call and will be put into executed agreements for the city to proceed with construction and installation.
