Discussion focused on nearby residences and noise. Council member Weshi opposed the amendment, arguing a smaller capacity could make it harder for the business to reach breakeven and would not materially reduce noise. Other members cited public requests for more outdoor dining and police recommendations on safety measures when considering conditions. Council member Luther stated the change was intended to balance neighborhood character with business needs and moved the final ordinance accordingly.
The ordinance's adopted condition limits the fenced patio to six tables and no more than 24 chairs; planning and code staff will record and enforce the condition as part of the permit. The council recorded the amendment and final adoption in its minutes; the ordinance is now in effect and staff will follow up on permit implementation and public‑safety conditions.
