Committee gets audit schedule and offers feedback on FY26 budget process

Miss Sullivan told the committee staff had started uploading documentation to the auditors' portal and that most items are due Sept. 17. On the FY26 budget process, Miss Holden asked for committee feedback as she and Mr. Napier plan the next schedule. Alderman Fuqua said he was pleased with last year’s process and believes Mr. Napier will provide strong leadership in the coming cycle; another member emphasized the need for public-friendly presentation formats and suggested providing both spreadsheets and portal access for different users.
Committee members agreed to treat the audit schedule as a standing item for follow-up and asked staff to ensure memos and fund-balance numbers are available for the Board of Mayor and Aldermen. A committee member said missing minutes would be cleaned up for next month and delivered by Friday.
