The Livonia City Council on Dec. 3 approved an amendment to the municipal lease for the Fox Creek restaurant (Coach’s Corner) that transfers ownership interest to a new tenant LLC and adjusts rent for the second five-year term. Council President McCullough moved approval with Council member Shield supporting; the measure passed on a 6–0 roll-call vote.

Coach’s Corner owners addressed the council and said operations will remain largely unchanged under the partial transfer: one owner said he will continue to be involved while the new co-owner Nick — introduced to the council — will take on day-to-day responsibilities.

Council also used the meeting to honor local volunteers and events. Council recognized the Livonia JV Falcons for winning both the 2025 league and city JV football championships, and presented a certificate to Carol Strum for 31 years of service on the Schoolcraft College board of trustees.

Dan West, president of the Livonia-Westland Chamber of Commerce, briefed the council on the sixth annual Night of Lights at Greenmead — four nights of themed programming in mid-December with $10 per vehicle admission; the event has raised more than $40,000 over six years for Greenmead restoration and has provided student fundraising opportunities.

The council approved the consent agenda (items 1–9) unanimously and took no additional final action on the larger Sheetz site-plan dispute at this meeting. The council recessed and will reconvene per its established schedule.
