Staff presented a contractor request to fully close Buckner Lane for two days during fall break so crews can install two stormwater pipes and a water pipe across the road. Miss Stahl said the contractor submitted a detour plan routing traffic via Spring Station, Wade's Grove and Duplex Road and that the police chief had agreed to add extra patrols along the detour.
Alderman Jimenez and others asked staff what contingency plans exist should crews encounter an underground conflict. Miss Stahl said crews could plate the opening to allow traffic in the morning and that staff could grant a variance to reopen the road the same night if work runs long. She also said staff found a typo in the contractor memo (incorrect dates matching correct days) and would have the contractor correct the exhibit before the formal resolution.
The mayor asked if any alderman objected to placing the lane‑closure request on the consent agenda; none objected and staff said they would place the item on the consent agenda next Monday.
No formal roll‑call vote on the closure was recorded at the meeting; staff said they would bring a memorializing resolution to the board for formal action.
