The Los Gatos‑Saratoga Union High School District board approved multiple governance and partnership items during its Sept. 18 meeting.
Staff recommended and the board approved appointments of two new members — Shailesh Kumar and Vikka — to the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) for two‑year terms, bringing the committee to five voting members. Staff noted current applicants are mostly from Los Gatos and Monte Sereno and encouraged Saratoga residents to apply.
The board also approved an updated Budget Advisory Committee (BAC) roster and a revised meeting schedule designed to align BAC meetings with board agenda weeks so the committee receives unaudited actuals and interim reports at the same time as the board. Staff said this restructuring will improve BAC’s ability to advise trustees on financial matters.
Separately, the board approved an amended and restated ground lease between the Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) and PS Northern California 1, Inc. (a Delaware corporation). Staff said revenue from the lease helps offset costs for students to attend CTE/SPCTE programs offered through MetroED.
All three items were approved by motion with student preferential votes recorded where applicable.
