The Board of Aldermen of the City of Shrewsbury voted to adopt an ordinance establishing the citys tax levies for 2025 following a brief public hearing. Finance Director Dustin told the board the citys assessed valuations had increased while personal-property valuations had fallen by about $2,000,000, and reported proposed tax rates of 0.801 for residential property and 0.897 for commercial property.
Chair opened the hearing and asked for public comment; no members of the public spoke. The board held a second reading and then a final passage vote on Bill No. 4056. The motion for final passage carried in roll call and the ordinance was recorded on the docket as ordinance number 4035.
The action finalizes the citys levy and allows staff to proceed with the budget schedules and tax-rate calculations for the coming year. The board did not amend the ordinance or hold further debate during final passage. Any procedural or administrative adjustments to levy amounts will occur through the citys normal post-adoption accounting and tax-notification processes.
