Rice County board approves routine consent items, grants and several departmental contracts

The Rice County Board of Commissioners convened Sept. 9 and took a series of approvals across departments.
Early on the board approved the meeting agenda and minutes for the Aug. 26 regular meeting and a Sept. 2 special meeting. Facilities staff received authorization to advertise two-phase bids for conservation building structural repairs followed by roof replacement. Social Services obtained approval for annual renewals of foster transportation purchase-of-service agreements and approved a purchase-of-service agreement with Parent Coach Connection (Lisa Krause) to provide in-home parent coaching for families on child-protection case plans. Community Corrections asked for and received a Recovery Month proclamation and board approval of a Treatment Court Interagency Agreement for state fiscal year 2026; staff indicated the program receives state funding and federal grant support and that the county share is in the low thirties percent of costs. The county attorney's office was authorized to accept a crime victim services grant of $69,822 to support the crime victim services coordinator. Parks was authorized to use an $11,000 SHIP grant plus up to $16,008.75 in park dedication fees for ADA benches, picnic tables and a short ADA trail at Shager Park. Administration presented and the board approved the consent agenda (overtime, payment of bills, personnel appointments). The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn.
