Parks staff requested authorization to use park dedication funds to supplement a SHIP grant for ADA improvements at Shager Park. Sarah Fosted told the board the parks committee secured an $11,000 SHIP grant to purchase three ADA benches and two ADA picnic tables, and asked to use up to $16,008.75 from park dedication fees to construct an approximately 100-foot by 10-foot paid bituminous trail from the beach parking lot to the picnic area, reshape the gravel parking lot, and install an ADA parking stall.
"ADA access improvements are identified" in the park fee expenditure policy, Fosted said, and the project was presented as an eligible use of park dedication funds. The board moved, seconded, and approved the request by voice vote.
