Ramsey County board approves consent administrative items including Purdue Pharma settlement filing, HUD planning grants and construction contract

The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners voted to approve a package of administrative items moved by Commissioner Montgomery and seconded by a colleague. The motion bundled grant agreements, a contract award, an amendment to an MOU and authorization to hold a closed session for labor negotiations.

The listed items included a filing related to the Purdue Pharma LP settlement in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York (court file number 19-23649); grant agreements with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety for youth support services and for assault services; an award from the Minnesota Department of Human Services Homelessness, Housing and Support Services Division for an Emergency Services Grant; HUD continuum-of-care planning grant awards; and an agreement with Georgiansen Construction Inc. for remodeling Judicial Chambers Room 12D. The motion also included a first amendment to an MOU with the state's Second Judicial District, a lease agreement with the New Brighton Area Historical Society for a premises at Long Lake Regional Park, and authorization to hold a closed meeting for labor strategy.

A roll-call vote followed; the board recorded aye votes from the commissioners present and the motion passed. The vote was presented as a standard approval of administrative/consent items; no separate debate or amendments to those items were recorded in the public session.

The board also later approved minutes from the Sept. 2, 2025 meeting by roll call.
