Franklin County commissioners approve construction GMP amendment and a slate of grants, contracts and housing actions

The Franklin County Board of Commissioners on March 18 adopted a package of resolutions that included a guaranteed maximum price amendment for construction of a mental health and addiction crisis center and approvals of grants, contract modifications and housing-related actions.

The board approved Resolution 19825, authorizing GMP Amendment No. 5 with Elford Incorporated to provide construction-manager-at-risk services for the new mental health and addiction crisis center, adding up to $643,994 for a revised GMP of $51,802,253. Vivian Alexander, chief operating officer for Public Facilities Management, said the amendment covers final electrical, finishes, plumbing and HVAC work, inspection allowances and a contingency; milestone dates noted include partial occupancy targeted this week, final occupancy on April 11 and completion of non-occupancy work by May 19. The vote was recorded as Commissioner O'Grady: Yes; Commissioner Boyce: Abstain; Commissioner Crowley: Yes. The resolution was adopted with Boyce's abstention.

The board also unanimously adopted Resolution 19925 to approve $507,000 in supplemental appropriations for Franklin County Children Services to participate as lead county in the Ohio Fellowship…
