Megan Harry Balleniere, director of purchasing, presented the package and was joined by Andrina Austin, economic equity administrator, who reported supplier diversity metrics for the group of purchase orders: $181,641.41 in awards to small and emerging businesses in this batch, with year-to-date awards to small and emerging businesses totaling $13,705,971.71.
County staff said four agencies in this set of purchase orders—Court of Appeals, the data center, the engineer's office and the sheriff's department—are the recipients of the small-business awards. Commissioners moved and adopted the resolution unanimously.
The purchasing office characterized the awards as part of an ongoing effort to expand equitable opportunities for small, minority- and women-owned businesses in county contracting.
