The Planning & Zoning Commission on Feb. 18 recommended that City Council approve a conditional use permit for Grace Grazers, a snack and nonalcoholic beverage bar planned for 715 North New Ballast within Plaza Shops.
Applicant Zulfika Abadi described the business as a franchisee operation offering charcuterie grazing boards and catering, with approximately 70% of revenue from business‑to‑business catering and the remainder from online or pickup orders. Abadi said the operation will be takeout only with a small waiting lobby and no indoor seating; she plans to hire three local employees.
City planner Bethany Moore said the use is a conditional one in the CB business district, requires five parking spaces based on the city’s parking standard, and that the site currently has about 165 spaces—leaving a substantial surplus. Staff recommended hours of operation and other conditions; commissioners moved, seconded and approved a recommendation to City Council. The commission forwarded the application to the council’s next meeting for final review.
