Council hears first reading for Jimmy John's conditional-use permit in Creve Coeur Plaza

On first reading the council considered Bill 6175, an ordinance to repeal older ordinances and issue a conditional-use permit for a 1,200-square-foot limited-service Jimmy John's at 782 North New Ballas Road in Creve Coeur Plaza.
Jason Jaggi, director of community development, told the council the tenant proposes to occupy the existing Subway space, that the restaurant would have 16 seats, hours of operation of 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week, and no drive-through. Jaggi noted some materials (notably a floor plan) were missing from the packet and would be provided before the second reading.
Council members asked whether operations would materially differ from the prior Subway tenant and about historical conditional-use reporting requirements; Jaggi said operations are similar and that staff is repealing older conditional-use ordinances and establishing a new permit that reflects current requirements and procedures. The item will return for a second reading.
