Creve Coeur council approves several public-works contracts, equipment purchase

The Creve Coeur City Council unanimously approved multiple public-works contracts and an equipment purchase at its meeting.
Resolutions the council approved included: an award to Sweetens Concrete Services for the Old Ballast Road reconstruction project (not-to-exceed $311,311.31), a contract for Lake School Park restroom conversion (Bridal/Brady Construction, not-to-exceed ~$95,130), and a contract to Ideal Play and Resurfacing for park pavilions at Conway and Malcolm Terrace parks (not-to-exceed $202,375, including approximately $31,000 for electrical work). Staff said the pavilion project will be funded using savings from other projects in FY26.
The council also approved the annual asphalt pavement resurfacing program with E. Meyer Contracting, Inc. (contract sum recorded as $383,059.50 after bid corrections) and authorized the purchase of a 2025 Takeuchi mini excavator from Luby Equipment under a state cooperative purchasing program for $52,003.75. Staff said the excavator cost was budgeted in FY26 and the expense was split between parks and capital funds.
Unfinished business on final reading included acceptance of Merry Meadows Lane and authorization to move ahead with the Merry Meadows Street Repair and Improvement Project; Council adopted an amendment to insert a reference to the just-approved resurfacing resolution and passed the ordinance on final reading.
City staff told the council these projects resulted from competitive bidding, fit the FY26 capital program, and were timed to meet contractors' availability. Votes on the contracts and the equipment purchase were recorded as unanimous.
