Planning commission approves murals, signs and awnings; tables CSM to Sept. 2
Summary

At the July 7 meeting the Delavan Planning Commission acted on multiple routine permit applications and a land-division Certified Survey Map (CSM).
The commission approved a mural application from the American Legion Auxiliary for 111 South Second Street. Applicant Joe Duerlown said the auxiliary will maintain the mural and described poppy imagery and a banner commemorating veterans.
The commission approved a sign face change at 617 East Washington Street despite staff noting the work took place before it was reviewed; members said the new face closely matches prior colors and precedent and approved the permit.
A permanent fabric awning for 328 East Walworth Avenue (an existing downtown garage/shop opening) was also approved after commissioners discussed materials and placement.
On land division, staff and the developer discussed the proposed 3-lot CSM for Lakeland Resort (CSM 4985). Commissioners raised concerns about lot numbering (keeping the main resort parcel as Lot 1), a recorded but not-yet-effective dedication (Outlot 3 along Highway 50), and whether required dedications or easement releases had been recorded. The applicant and staff agreed to clean up maps and documentation and return the CSM and final plat on the same evening; the commission tabled the CSM to Sept. 2 to allow that work.
