An outside consultant on Monday presented Creve Coeur with a national recognition for resident satisfaction. Robert Heacock of ETC Institute told the council the city ranked in the top 10% nationally across ETC's benchmarks and exceeded national averages by substantial margins in several categories: overall quality of city services (+46%), place to live (+49%), effectiveness of city communications (+46%) and efforts to inform citizens (+44%).
Heacock described ETC's "Leading the Way" award as a national benchmark program that highlights top performers across communities that have participated in ETC's direction-finder citizen surveys. The presenter noted Creve Coeur was one of the original benchmark communities and is the only city in the St. Louis area to receive the award in the most recent review.
Mayor and council members thanked staff for their work in achieving the results; the mayor encouraged staff to continue outreach and to plan to repeat the survey cycle in three years. The presentation concluded with a brief ceremonial acknowledgment.
