Raytown aldermen approve consent agenda and $15,000 snow-contract amendment

The Raytown Board of Aldermen on Feb. 18 unanimously approved the consent agenda and a separate resolution authorizing additional payment to a snow-removal contractor after staff said recent storms exceeded the contract limit.
Alderman Scott moved to approve the consent agenda and Miss Mims seconded; the clerk conducted a roll call and all named members voted yes. The motion carried unanimously.
For new business the clerk read a resolution authorizing an agreement with KC Snow Pro LLC using the City of Lee’s Summit cooperative purchasing agreement for an amount not to exceed $45,000 and to amend the fiscal-year 2024–25 budget. Public-works staff member Rob Camp told the council that an “epic” multi-day snow event exhausted $30,000 of the initial contract; staff requested an additional $15,000 to cover extra snow removal and equipment contingencies. Alderman Bimbs moved to approve the $15,000, Alderman Scott seconded; the clerk called the roll and the motion carried unanimously.
Roll-call votes listed the following recorded yes votes on the resolution (as read): Alderman Mims, Alderman Scott, Alderman Krezyk, Alderman Emerson, Alderman Van Buskirk, Alderman Walters, Alderman Azure and Alderman Myers. Staff said the city uses a cooperative agreement with Lee’s Summit for procurement in this instance and that contractors typically provide one of six snow routes when called on.
The council adjourned at 8:01 p.m.
