At the Jan. 21 Raytown Board of Aldermen meeting the mayor reported the city began demolition of the old police department annex behind City Hall on Jan. 15. The mayor said the annexs demolition was paid for with American Rescue Plan Act funds and the project will provide more secure space for evidence storage.
The mayor also noted attendance at a ribbon-cutting for the new Raytown South High School touring arts center and praised local bond support for capital projects. City Administrator Damon Hodges told aldermen the city has RFPs out for on-call mechanical work (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, door security), mowing, and other services; proposals are due Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. and information is available on the Raytown website.
The mayor announced the appointment of Angel Abercrombie to the Raytown Park Board and thanked the volunteer. Hodges said the meeting is live-streamed on the city website and he will check on Comcast broadcast issues referenced by aldermen and the public.
