The Planning Commission reorganized its leadership at the Jan. 13 meeting. Following nominations, Sarah Norman was nominated and confirmed as chair for the 2025 calendar year; Angela Smith was nominated and accepted the vice-chair role.
The commission also received a resignation announcement from Commissioner Ron (Soley/Suling in the record), who said he will step down effective 12:01 a.m. the following day because of travel plans and a scheduled joint‑replacement surgery. “Tonight marks the start of my ninth year as a member of this planning commission…Accordingly, I will resign the planning commission appointment effective as of 12:01AM tomorrow,” the commissioner said. Colleagues thanked him for years of service and noted the workload for the board going forward.
Procedural notes: staff will finalize the January 28 council check-in memo and asked the commission to designate a representative for the council workshop; commissioners agreed to review Appendix A (submittal requirements) ahead of the February meeting.
