Dr. Joe Ortiz and colleagues said the green home program provides badges (including fully electric and solar home badges) and noted a $99 fee for certification. The committee proposed four 2025 goals: a resource‑conservation education theme, ongoing engagement activities, best practices for land stewardship that could inform city policy, and providing specific advisory memos to council on comprehensive‑plan items where the EAC can add value.
Councilmembers commended the outreach but asked the committee to avoid appearing to advocate mandates, to focus on education, and to set measurable targets where useful. Staff confirmed web resources and liaison support and said committee workshops and educational materials will remain available on the city website.
