Hudson honors longtime crossing guard and proclaims community service and awareness weeks

At the Sept. 16 meeting the Hudson City Council unanimously approved an honorary resolution recognizing crossing guard Clark Rummeiser’s decades of service and issued proclamations for the Mighty Vincent project, Stillbirth Prevention and Constitution Week.
Council on Tuesday recognized long-serving community members and local nonprofit activity.
Council read and unanimously approved honorary resolution 25-137 honoring Clark Rummeiser for more than five decades of service as a crossing guard for Hudson City Schools and in cooperation with the Hudson Police Department. Councilor Sutton and others offered brief tributes; Rummeiser accepted the resolution in person.
The council also issued three proclamations: proclaiming Sept. 20–27, 2025 as the 2025 Mighty Vincent project week, recognizing the nonprofit’s volunteer service and fundraising accomplishments; declaring Sept. 19, 2025 as Stillbirth Prevention and Awareness Day, noting national statistics and the local Charles Martin Corby Fund’s work supporting grieving families; and designating Sept. 17–23, 2025 as Constitution Week, honoring the U.S. Constitution’s anniversary.
Speakers praised the honorees and organizers and asked residents to participate in or recognize these observances. The proclamations required no council vote beyond unanimous assent during the meeting’s ceremonial section.
