Staff: Comprehensive plan RFP negotiations ongoing; consultant outreach expected this summer

Community development staff told the Planning Commission on June 11 that negotiations over the comprehensive plan request for proposals are still underway. Barry said negotiations are nearly complete and that staff expects to have consultant information to share during the summer; once a consultant is onboard staff will present a schedule and begin public outreach that will include meeting with the commission and engaging students during the school year.
Barry also noted rezoning cases may be ready for commission review next month, including residential development proposals on city‑owned land.
No formal action was taken on the comprehensive plan at this meeting; staff said it will return with details and a schedule once the consultant is engaged.
