Maplewood honors longtime Parks & Recreation commissioner Craig Brannen

The Maplewood City Council on Aug. 25 adopted a resolution of appreciation honoring Craig Brannen for about 30 years of service on the Parks and Recreation Commission.
Councilmember Villavicencio read the resolution recounting Brannen’s long tenure (03/20/1995–08/14/2025 as stated in the resolution text) and his work on projects including Sunset Ridge Park, the 2015 Park Systems Master Plan, trail and playground improvements and outreach. Council members praised Brannen’s advocacy on trail connectivity, playground safety and diverse tree planting. Council voted unanimously to adopt the resolution and invited Brannen to address the council briefly and pose for a photograph.
Brannen said he felt honored to serve and that he would miss the commission; councilmembers thanked him for his service.
