Maplewood recognizes police command staff for completing FBI LETA trilogy leadership series

Public Safety Director Beardeman told the council May 27 that the Maplewood Police Department’s command staff received recognition after completing the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (LETA) trilogy leadership series.
Beardeman said the series — supervisory, command and executive development courses — focuses on ethical decision-making, accountability and communication. He credited the training with aligning the command team on leadership philosophy and said it strengthens the department’s approach to modern policing.
“Tonight is about showing that we not only care deeply about the community, but also about the development of our people who serve it,” Beardeman said. He invited council members and staff to join a photo opportunity to commemorate the achievement.
Councilmembers thanked Beardeman and commended the department for the emphasis on leadership development and professionalism. The council recorded no formal action beyond recognition and accepted the presentation.
